Throughput of Scheduling algorithm

Question

How do we measure the throughput of a scheduling algorithm? In every algorithm,the total time will be the sum of the burst times..and the same number of tasks will get executed in that time.? In that case how do we determine which one has maximum throughput?

Throughout of system of process in scheduling = total no of process/(max(completions time - minimums arrival time )

Throughput means the efficiency of the scheduling algo that is no of process completed per unit time.

So throughput = no .of process completed / time taken

Number of processes and total time taken will be same for any scheduling algortihm. there must some other way to measure the throughput of a scheduling algorithm

No, that is not the case if it is so then why we have different types of scheduling algos, we know that shortest job first have the maximum throughput by it we mean that for a particular job instances SJB will execute many processes in shorter span of time as compared to other scheduling algo

 

so throughput == no of process completed / time taken
