How answer would have changed if they have asked 3NF? THANKS 0 0 replyShare Prateek Raghuvanshi commented Nov 18, 2018 reply Follow flag Actually All relation are in BCNF .so for 2nf,3nf,bcnf ,4 tables are enough. 1 1 replyShare Ashwani Yadav commented Nov 19, 2018 reply Follow flag @Prateek GAME relation has both lines as solid lines so it has to be in an extra table, then LOGS relation should also have an extra table as it also has both lines as solid lines with one side as total participation? 0 0 replyShare Prateek Raghuvanshi commented Nov 19, 2018 reply Follow flag @ Ashwani Yadav brother LOGS relation should have weak relation because INJURY RECORD entity is weak entity which means INJURY RECORD entity does not have its own key so have to be merge with relation .so it can identify uniquely .i hope you got my point. 0 0 replyShare Ashwani Yadav commented Nov 19, 2018 reply Follow flag yes thats true, i was thinking i'm missing some useful information here. you know sometimes in questions we don't get these arrows lines, just single and double lines and i have to consider double line as many side and single line as one side then answer which i got is correct always. I know single line indicates partial participation and double line as total one . but in those questions no info about 1:1 or many to one mapping so considering that way always gives me correct answer. as per this question everything is clear now. Thanks :) 1 1 replyShare Gate Fever commented Jan 17, 2019 reply Follow flag @Prateek Raghuvanshi even i have this doubt, do we need to check different things if it is asked whether relation is in 2Nf or not?? i mean is the procedure for all BCNF,2NF,3NF same??or different procedure is to be followed?? i mean any special property that needs to be checked?? 0 0 replyShare Please log in or register to add a comment.
