How long does it take before the first full window can be sent? ______(milli seconds) Computer Networks + – Vipin Rai 781 views answer comment Share Follow Print See all 4 Comments 4 4 Comments reply Mk Utkarsh commented Jan 28, 2019 reply Follow flag given solution is correct 0 0 replyShare Gupta731 commented Jan 28, 2019 reply Follow flag With the slow start, the first RTT sends out 1 segment (or 2KB), the 2nd RTT sends out 2 segments (or 4KB), the 3rd 4 segments (or 8KB), the 4th 8 segments (or 16KB). The 5th RTT would have sent out 16 segments (or 32KB), however, it'll exceed the receiver's window. Therefore, the amount of time it takes BEFORE the 5th RTT (or full window, that is, 24KB) is 4*10=40msec. 0 0 replyShare Vipin Rai commented Jan 28, 2019 reply Follow flag What is the threshold in this case? 0 0 replyShare Gupta731 commented Jan 28, 2019 reply Follow flag Nothing mentioned, so I assume it to be equal to receiver window size. 0 0 replyShare Please log in or register to add a comment.
