Finding directed broadcasting address for network.

Question

If pic is not clear: Data:

Dept1 (with X link) has 287 hosts. Dept2 (with Y link) has 510 hosts. Dept3 (with Z link) has 254 hosts. 

Qstn: If above network uses class C network 192.203.16.0 then find DBA for dept Y. (Assume all are in the same network.)

How can this be done? Dept2 has 510 hosts , so 9 bits needed. But as it is a Class C IP, can you get my confusion? Kindly help me clarify it. How to even proceed for this qstn?

First of all this question is wrong. This complete network can not be configured with single class C network. !

Yes, Y can not be configured because 510 > 254 (Maximum hosts configurable in any class C)  !

Directed Broadcast Id => Network ID followed by all 1's in Host ID part .

So none of option is correct !

No it does not. They are asking for DBA.

DBA Means

Network ID Part as it is  Then Host id part all 1's.

192.203.16.255 will be DBA  for class C network with network id 192.203.16.0

this question is above my head . it might be from supernetting , cus we take one bit from network part , but then what will be the DBA

Dont worry. It's wrong. And above all, they have already mentioned that all these components belong to the same network. So, subnetting it is..
