I have to spend 1/10 of my income on house rent, 1/10 of remainder on conveyance 1/3 of further remainder on children's education after which I have ₹ 648 left over. What is my income?

Let the income be $x.$

House rent expense $=0.1x$

Conveyance expense $=0.1 * 0.9x = 0.09x$

Child education expense $ = 1/3 * (1-0.1-0.09)x = 0.27x$

Total expenses $ = (0.1 + 0.09 + 0.27)x = 0.46x$

$(1-0.46)x = 648 \implies x = 648/0.54 = 32400/27 = 3600/3 = 1200.$
