Let us assume, profit = $x$

A’s contribution = $1200 \times 12$  and Profit of A = $\frac{2}{2+3+5}x = \frac{2x}{10}$

So, $\frac{2x}{10} = 1200 \times 12$  $\Rightarrow  x = 72,000$

Profit of B = $\frac{3}{2+3+5}x = \frac{3x}{10} = \frac{3\times72000}{10} = 21,600$

Now, B came after 3 months of the investment, so B’s investment $= \frac{21,600}{9} = 2400$ (Ans)
