Let us assume the numbers are a and b

The arithmetic mean is (a+b)/2 and geometric means is square root of ab

Now a+b=20 (given)..(eq.1)

so arithmetic mean =20/2=10

the geometric mean = 10- 10x20/100= 8

so, ab=8^2=64...(eq.2)

solving eq1 and eq2 we get a=16. b=4 or a=4 ,b=16

so, the ratio is 16:4=4:1

Option (A)4:1 is the correct answer
