For mod 555 up counter we will have counting from 0 to 554..

So for MSB to be 1 we need to consider nearest power of 2 which is lower..

So it will be 512 whose binary representation is 1000000000

So after that till 554 MSB will be 1 only..

And also till 554 we need 10 bits only ..

So no of numbers for the counter which will have MSB '1'   =   554 - 512 + 1

                                                                                     =   43

So no of numbers for mod 555  up counter having MSB '1'  = 43
