UDP does not do loss recovery; TCP does. So transport layer may do it, but it is not mandatory.Detection of duplicate packets - Not mandatory. Again, TCP does it, UDP does not.Packet delivery in correct order - Not mandatory. TCP ensures ordering; UDP does not.End-to-end connectivity - Must be implemented by transport layer.
