Is it possible for a non engineer to do M.tech ?

Question

I have done M.Sc in mathematics and I was also eligible to write Gate CS&IT 2024 paper. Moreover I have qualified this paper with a score of  503  . So now I want to do M.Tech/M.S in any (core or interdisciplinary) branch of computer science or information technology. Considering eligibility criteria, can anyone suggest me most suitable  institue from where I can pursue M.Tech/M.S. 

Note : After so many research on internet I have found out that :

(1) Being General category this score is not suitable to take admission into IIT's 
(2) Although many NIT's have their cutoff less than my score but they only allow B.Tech/B.E/MCA students but not M.Sc math

Depends on the particular criteria for each institute.

Many institutes allow to pursue mtech if you have M.Sc. degree.

I myself from msc background and git call letter for mtech counselling from IIT Delhi (AI), IIT Bhu (decision theory) , IIT Jammu (CSE) and for NIT there are a few courses which allow mtech after msc.

Most of the courses are interdisciplinary courses like Decision theory, mathematics and computing, earth sciences, education technology etc.

 

And they consider B.Tech (4 years) as equivalent to M.Sc.(3+2 years).
