Mux - standalone functionally complete only Demux, only Decoder are not functionally complete. Encoder - not functionally complete - I don't think this will be used for realizing any circuit. ROM is a combinational circuit itself. 0 0 replyShare navaneethsaj commented Sep 5, 2024 reply Follow flag This is a self doubt, When we google out, I see that demux is not functionality complete, nor am I able to generate a scenario where we can make demux act as NOT AND combination. 0 0 replyShare Shaik Masthan commented Sep 6, 2024 reply Follow flag In that case, Is decoder alone functionally complete ? If yes, how ? 0 0 replyShare navaneethsaj commented Sep 6, 2024 reply Follow flag If demux isn't functionality complete neither is decoder 0 0 replyShare Shaik Masthan commented Sep 6, 2024 reply Follow flag Decoder - It will provide all minterms, but to implement any function it require AND or OR gates. Same with the Demux. In case of Mux - as it is by default containing or gate in the output, it will realize any function.
