A container contain spirit to water ratio of 2:3 and other container contain 4:7 spirit to water ratio. If both mixtures are combined together in a large container what will be the new spirit to water ratio.?

What should be the approach to handle these types of question?

Total spirit =2/5+4/11

               =42/55

Total Water=2-42/55

                =68/55

So new spirit to water ratio=42/68

                                      =21/34
