Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT Tirupati) is an autonomous engineering and technology education institute located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. The institute also has a strong collaboration with IISER, Tirupati, to activity conduct and promote research. They have collaborated and started CAMOST (Center for Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Sciences & Technologies) to promote activities. The students at IIT Tirupati can also take courses at IISER Tirupati and transfer credits during their undergraduate coursework.

Eligibility Criteria:
For Half-Time Teaching Assistantship (HTTA) candidates:
Candidates seeking M.Tech admission under Half-Time Teaching Assistantship (HTTA) category can apply through the same link as the GATE qualified candidates.
For GATE qualified candidates:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology or Master’s Degree
Candidates yet to appear or have appeared in the final examination for the qualifying degree can also apply.
For IIT Graduates:
Candidates with B.Tech degree from IITs who satisfy the following conditions can apply without a valid GATE score.
Candidates graduating/ graduated from IITs with B.Tech. degree in a suitable discipline as in the below table.
Candidates must have CGPA of 8.0 (7.5 for SC/ST) and above in the B.Tech. degree.
For Non-HTTA candidates:

Important Guidelines:
For Half-Time Teaching Assistantship (HTTA) Candidates:
Candidates admitted under this category will get financial assistance in the form of Half-Time Teaching Assistantship (HTTA), as per applicable norms.
COAP registration is mandatory for
- Candidates having a B.Tech. degree from an IIT with a CGPA less than 8.0 (7.5 CGPA for SC/ST).
- Candidates having a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or Master's degree in Science from any Institute/University other than an IIT.
Reservation:
Seats are reserved for Indian Nationals under the categories, SC/ST/ EWS/ OBC-NCL and PwD (Persons with Disability) according to the Government of India norms.
For Sponsored candidates (Non-HTTA):
Candidates admitted under the Non-HTTA category will not get any financial assistance from the Institute and cannot be moved to the HTTA category at a later date.

M.S Program:
M.S. (Regular) Research Program:
The M.S (Research) program is a postgraduate research-oriented program. The scholar works in an area of interest under the supervision of a faculty member. The scholar has to obtain a minimum number of credits by taking courses. The highlight of the program is the independent research work taken by scholar, leading to a dissertation at the end of the program.
M.S. (External) Research Program:
The scholar works in an area of his/her interest under the supervision of a faculty member. The highlight of the program is the independent research work taken by scholar, leading to a dissertation at the end of the program. The average duration of an M.S. program is between two to three years. The scholar taken into this program should have relevant work experience as mentioned in the admission criteria. The scholar has to submit a No Objection Certificate from their current organization.

Eligibility:

Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology from any Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) with an exceptionally good academic record in an eligible discipline and a minimum CGPA of 8/10 (7.5 for EWS/OBC-NCL and 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD)
Note: A valid GATE score is not required in the case of candidates applying under the external/part-time/internal category.
External Category:
The applicant must be regular employee and have at least two years of professional experience as on the last date of receipt of applications. The applicant must be sponsored by and employed in an industry/organization/national laboratories, having R&D facilities and recognized by DST or by IIT Tirupati.
Part-Time Category:
The applicant must be employed in an industry, organization or institution located within commutable distance of IIT Tirupati.
The applicant should have at least two years of professional experience as on the last date of receipt of applications.
Internal (IIT Tirupati Staff):
The applicant must be regular employees of IIT Tirupati.
The applicant should have at least two years of experience as a regular employee as on the last date of receipt of applications.

Regular (Full-time scholars):
The research scholars selected under regular registration will be eligible for assistantship through various schemes.
Non-HTRA Category:
External:
The applicant must be regular employee and have at least two years of professional experience as on the last date of receipt of applications.
The applicant must be sponsored by and employed in an industry/organization/national laboratories, having R&D facilities and recognized by DST or by IIT Tirupati.
Research scholars admitted under this category will normally carry out part or all of their research in the parent organization under supervision of a faculty from IIT Tirupati and a co-supervisor employed in their parent organization. Certificate of Support from the Employer should be provided
Part-Time:
The applicant must be employed in an industry, organization or institution located within commutable distance of IIT Tirupati.
The applicant should have at least two years of professional experience as on the last date of receipt of applications.
Note: Candidate must produce NoC at the time of Written Test / Interview
Internal (IIT Tirupati Staff):
The applicant must be regular employees of IIT Tirupati.

Educational qualification:
Candiadtes who have M.E / M.Tech / M.S by Research in Engineering / 5-year integrated Masters/Dual Degree in engineering. (or) 2 year M.Sc from IITs (entry through JAM) with a minimum CGPA of 8 (7.5 for EWS/OBC-NCL and 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD) (or) • B.S+M.S (5-year integrated) from CFTI are exempted from having valid GATE score.
BE/BTech from any other university, with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 (7.5 for EWS/OBC-NCL and 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD) with valid GATE score can apply.
