The uPC is not incremented in the following cases :

(i)When an end microinstruction is encountered.

(ii)When a new instruction is loaded into IR(instruction register)

(iii)When a branch microinstruction is encountered and branch condition is satisfied.

Someone, please explain the last point. I didn't get why it will not be incremented.

These statements are from the standard book
