P(M/U)= probability that the selected person is male given that he is unemployed. This is what we have to find.

P(M) = probability that person is man : it is 0.6 ( 60% of the population is male given)

P(U/M)= probability that a person is unemployed knowing that the person is a male: 25% given so 0.25

P(F)= probability that person is female = 0.4 and

P(U/F)= probability that a person is unemployed knowing that the person is a female : 0.15

By Baye's theorem,

P(M/U)=P(U/M)*P(M)/{P(M)*P(U/M) + P(F)*P(U/F)}

Put the values. You will get 0.714.
