$f(x) = 3-4x+2x^2$

$f '(x) = -4 + 4x = 0  \implies  x=1$

$f ''(x) = 4$

$f ''(1) = 4>0$

 Therefore at $x=1$ we will get minimum value, which is : $3 - 4(1) + 2(1)^2 = 1.$

Step 1: Identify aa and bb

2x2−4x+32x^2-4x+3

So,

a=2,b=−4a=2,\qquad b=-4

Step 2: Find the value of xx where the minimum occurs

x=−(−4)2(2)=44=1x=\frac{-(-4)}{2(2)} =\frac{4}{4} =1

Step 3: Substitute x=1x=1

f(1)=3−4(1)+2(1)2f(1)=3-4(1)+2(1)^2 =3−4+2=3-4+2
