suppose counting semaphore value is 5 can it be increased to 6

We can perform two kind of operation on Sema[hores

WAIT(); This will decrement the value of semaphore by one.. Actually it means one more process in the way of occupying the critical section

 

SIGNAL():This will increment the value of semaphore by one.

Actually it means one more process in the way of leaving the critical section

Wait and Signal are sometime also reffered as P operation and V operation

So,one more signal operation will make this value 6
