There are 2 phases of examination.
1. MCQ and Coding test in Lab.
There were 10 questions in total with 8 being MCQ and 2 being coding question. Duration is 1 hour for this test.
8 questions were from LA, Probability and Calculus. Questions were on the easier side.
For example,
a) How many ways INDIAN can be arranged such that vowels are not adjacent to each other?
b) y=f(x) graph was given. y=f(2x) was asked.
Same level like this.
The 2 coding question were:
a) Write the code to right shift the columns of a matrix by K places.
b) Wrtie the code to split the list of numbers in the boxes of [1-10],[11-20],[21-30],...etc
2. Interview
After the written test, everyone will wait in the waiting room and professor will call each person individually for interview. Interview was one to one with a professor. Interview process will be for 10-15 mins only.
I was called and then I was asked to introduce myself and based on my introduction. professor asked me some questions regarding my work in intern and job.
2nd question that they asked was why am i interested in studying ML now after job in web development?
Then i was given a marker and he asked me 2 questions.
a) A=BC and dimension of B is nx1 and C is 1xm. What is the rank of A?
I answered 1. He asked the reason. I told him the reason which is explained here (4a Multiplying 2 Matrices | My Walmart Interview Question | Linear Algebra | Sachin Mittal). Along with this, in another method. I used Rank(AB) <= min(Rank(A),Rank(B)) formula and also proved this formula.
b) Write pseudo code to multiply an upper triangular matrix with a vector.
