This is also important to note - specifically for the MTech CS aspirants, taken from the prospectus: 

Written Test Waiver The written test is be waived for candidates with a valid GATE score above a threshold, to be decided by the admission committee each year. A student who applies for admission and meets the announced threshold for GATE score will be called directly for the interview. Candidates who obtain a waiver in the written tests will be assigned a score in the written test based on the GATE score. These candidates are required to apply, like all other candidates, in the prescribed application form.

Edit : relevant shortlist from 2018 - https://www.isical.ac.in/~admission/Documents/GATE-2018.pdf. Cutoff then was 770 for General. Can expect a proportionally higher cutoff this year based on the scores we are seeing.

Someone please put some light upon how is ISI for computer science taking course work,placement opportunity, internship and package offered into consideration.

You can get information related to all these things on quora and facebook groups.

One thing I would like to mention that education is free at ISI. So, if anyone can't afford the fee then he/she can consider this option.
