As India’s competitive landscape for engineering graduates continues to evolve, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) are increasingly turning to the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam as a means of recruitment. GATE 2026 is set to be a pivotal event for aspiring engineers looking to secure a stable and rewarding career in the public sector. In this post, we will explore the various PSU opportunities that will be available through GATE 2026.
1) Powergrid : POWERGRID seeks applications ( for Engineer Trainee, tentatively in the disciplines of Electrical / Electronics / Civil / Computer Science ) from Capable, Committed, Energetic and Resilient Engineering Graduates willing to take up challenging assignments and be a part of the transformational journey of the country.
Note : Final Year / Semester students who expect their final results by 14th August, 2026 are also eligible to apply, provided they have obtained minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate of all semesters/years up to pre-final examination.
Please note that only GATE 2026 score (Normalized Marks out of 100) is valid for this recruitment process. GATE score of 2025 or prior is not valid.

2) BARC : Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) Training Schools Invite Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates to apply for recruitment as Scientific Officers (Group-A post of Government of India) through its training programmes Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates (OCES) - 2026 and DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates (DGFS) - 2026
Note :
1) Cut-off GATE Score for screening into selection interviews will be decided only after the online test has concluded and candidates are therefore advised to maximize their chances of being screened into the selection interview stage by availing both the screening avenues (viz., BARC online exam and GATE).

3) DRDO : Be it known to the candidates desirous of recruitment to the post of Scientist 'B' in the Defence Research & Development Organisation that the organisation may be notifying vacancies of Scientist 'B' for the year 2026 in the next few months, depending upon the requirement. The direct recruitment to the post of Scientist 'B' will be conducted based on a valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score and/or written test/interview for vacancies in the disciplines for which GATE is conducted.
